First New Ground Level Tank

Myers was selected as the prime contractor for this 3MG ground level tank project which included 15,000 CY of heavy civil earthwork construction performed in close proximity to residential areas. The concrete tank was constructed by using wrapped, pre-stressed construction method. Waterworks Division staff collaborated with the City to develop a Value Engineering Change Proposal (VECP) that simplified the roof dome configuration while meeting all project specifications. By providing this constructible solution, the Division team reduced the overall project cost and allowed for the acceleration of work in the critical last 20% of construction. Additional project items included construction of a new pump station building housing 4-100HP vertical turbine pumps, hypochlorite chemical feed system, electrical and controls, standby generator and various cosmetic finishes to complete the park. Myers delivered this sensitive project while generating excellent public feedback and meeting all scheduling goals.
