Myers and Sons Construction is currently seeking a project engineer to work on a Caltrans Bridge Rehabilitation Project in the greater Sacramento area. This person will work closely with the project manager, project owner, as well as Myers and Sons’ internal staff to complete projects in a timely and effective manner. This person must be self-motivated and willing to learn all aspects of the project, including scheduling in both preconstruction and construction, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, layout, survey and quality assurance.

Required Experience: Must have experience working on a Heavy Civil Project as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer.

We are looking for a Project Accountant Assistant. The position contributes to Myers & Sons success by performing various accounting functions associated with job cost management. Jr. Project Cost Accountant assists Project Accountants in maintaining accounting across job cost associated accounts payable and subcontracts. The ability to take ownership, complete a task with accuracy and communicate well is essential.

Duties:

• Enter contracts/subcontracts/purchase orders into accounting system

• Ensures vendors and subcontractors are complying with all project requirements (certs of insurance, purchase orders, lien releases, and subcontracts executed)

• Enter and review A.P. invoices/ take vendor calls/research invoices

• Review and enter extra work bills into accounting system

• Certified Payroll Assist

• Maintain and organize all files related to job cost management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• General knowledge of the construction field and accounting experience

• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period

• Highly organized and detail oriented

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team player

• Strong computer skills with Vista Viewpoint experience preferred

• Comprehensive experience with Microsoft Office Suites

We are currently seeking a Project Manager to manage a Treatment Plant project in the Bay Area. This person will work closely with the Superintendent and Senior Management to ensure that the project is managed correctly and the work is performed in an efficient manner. This person must have an understanding of treatment plant construction.

This project is the second phase of work on the Immediate Action Projects related to the Clean Water Program’s wastewater treatment plant upgrades is beginning. A contract for the second phase of the Immediate Action Project, or IAP2, was awarded to Myers & Sons Construction LLC. The IAP2 construction package includes five separate projects that are needed to add backup protection to vulnerable points in the digestion and dewatering and solids handling processes, and to repair effluent piping. Additional overflow and suction piping, and a third foam suppression pump, will be added to the digesters and digester piping. This additional equipment in the digestion process area will provide the backup and flexibility that the system requires. A third centrifuge system will be added to the dewatering process, which will provide adequate backup to the current centrifuge system. One large cake pump, which is located in the solids building and transports cake (i.e., dewatered biosolids) to a storage hopper, will be replaced by two smaller cake pumping systems. This improvement will provide appropriately sized pumps and backup to that system. An additional cake hopper that will store all the dewatered biosolids until they can be hauled away will be added immediately outside the solids building. It will include a slide gate, access walkway, and platform. This additional hopper will provide more onsite storage, time between truck trips to dispose of the cake, and resources for operations to maintain other tanks in the digestion process. Lastly, repairs will be made to underground effluent piping and pipe connections.

Required Experience:
Must have 5 years or more of experience working on Heavy Civil or Treatment Plant Projects as a Project Manager or Engineer.

Preferred Background:
A Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree.
A licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training.
Experience with Primavera, Viewpoint or Heavy Job software is a plus.

Job Description

We are currently looking for a construction professional who can both estimate and manage projects out of our Castle Rock, CO office. We are looking for a person that has experience in estimating Treatment Plants and Heavy Highway projects and is capable of thinking outside the box, understands multi staged construction projects, is detailed oriented with experience heavy civil construction.

Responsibilities

* Provide full estimating services on large, complex heavy civil construction projects.

* Preparation of project estimates to ensure all factors are properly considered, priced, and included in the estimate summary.

* Site visits and investigations.

* Conducting constructability studies.

* Coordinate and Manage Subcontractors.

* Manage Owner relationships

* Update and Track Project Schedules

Required Qualifications

* 7 plus years construction experience with at least 2 years of estimating

* Ability to communicate effective

* Candidates must possess a strong work ethic.

* Work independently as well as part of a team.

* Strong organizational, interpersonal skills.

* Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

Preferred Qualification

* Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

* Experience with HCSS/Heavy Bid

* Experience with Suretrack/Primavera

* Experience with Alternative Delivery Project such as Design-Build, CMGC, CMAR
